Annual Training and Meeting Requirements

HIV/CMS Standards of Care and Part A Site Visit Guidelines specify the following:

New Case Managers:

  • 5-hour orientation

  • 15-hour annual training

  • 4 hours Cultural Sensitivity

  • 5 of 6 CM Team In-Service Meetings

Returning Case Managers:

  • 15-hour annual training

  • 4 hours Cultural Sensitivity

  • 4 of 6 CM Team In-Service Meetings

Supervisors:

  • Same as above

  • 4 hours Cultural Sensitivity

  • 10 of 12 CM Supervisors' Meetings

NOTE: These requirements are for Part A, B and C, and TDH-funded positions. HIV/CMS CM staff from other funding streams (i.e. HOPWA, Part B, City, TCADA, etc.)  welcome  and encouraged to participate.
HIV / CMS New CM Orientation
 

Course Description

This is an orientation for First-Year Case Management Staff.

This training consists of one (1) day-long session schedule to take place from 8:30am to 3:30pm at Resurrection MCC Church, located at 2024 West 11th Street, Houston TX 77008

Annual HIV/CMS Staff Training
 

Course Description

This is an annual training course requirement of all Case Management staff.

Cultural Sensitivity Training
 

Course Description

This training is for Case Management staff, Medical Care Coordinators, Housing Coordinators, Outreach Workers and other direct service staff.

Cultural Sensitivity training is being offered in two sessions. First year CM staff should receive 8 hours of CS training. Returning CM staff, medical care coordinators, housing coordinators and outreach workers should receive 4 hours of CS training.

Ethics for Social Workers, LPCs, LMFTs
 

Course Description

NCS is offering 3 hours of continuing education credit in Ethics for social workers, LSW, LMSWs, LPCs, and LMFTs which is required by the State of Texas annually. NCS features small classes, an interactive environment and experienced instructors.

This training consists of one (1) three-hour class.

Ethics Home Study for Social Workers, LPCs, LMFTs
 

Course Description

In addition to our on-site classes, NCS now offers ETHICS CEU program by mail! This class- Ethics-A Practical Approach for Healthcare- provides the 3-hours of ethics credit for social workers, LSWs, LMSWs, LMFTs & LPCs as required by the State of Texas annually.
